We are looking for a highly skilled Pattern Master with strong experience in the fashion retail industry to join our reputable company in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate patterns for garments based on design sketches, technical specifications, and fabric behavior. Your deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and retail production standards will be crucial for the success of our team. Your responsibilities will include creating production patterns based on product specifications and varying fabric widths. You will also plot and grade patterns, transfer hand-made patterns into computer-generated markers, and establish an accessible library of all production patterns. Additionally, you will propose new designs from conceptual drawings and collaborate with production staff to ensure products are finished according to customer and pattern specifications. You will review pattern grading for accuracy, assist in developing garment specification sheets, and offer suggestions to improve the efficiency and quality of garments developed. Your ability to interpret problem styles and identify solutions will be valued in this role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of related experience in pattern making and/or design. A post-secondary diploma or degree in textiles or a related field is required. Working knowledge of GERBER software is mandatory, along with proficiency in MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. You will be proficient in creating manual and CAD patterns using software such as Tukatech, Optitex, Gerber, or Illustrator. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing test fits and first samples for all new designs and ensuring accurate adjustments based on fitting corrections and designer feedback. Furthermore, you will be tasked with digitally grading approved patterns into multiple sizes, along with creating detailed pattern tech packs for each style. This will involve documenting fabric consumption per size, pattern placement suggestions, grain line and cut instructions, seam allowances and notches, as well as style/fit notes where applicable.
