The Office RN at Phelps Health plays a crucial role in assisting physicians or mid-level providers in delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and education to patients within the practice. This position requires a high level of organization, professionalism, customer service skills, attention to detail, multitasking abilities, critical thinking skills, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Key responsibilities of this role include following established hospital policies related to patient safety measures, administering medications as prescribed, assisting with procedures, conducting phone triage, documenting patient care accurately in medical records, maintaining medication and supply inventory, administering IV medications, obtaining vital signs, performing lab testing, providing patient education, and training other healthcare personnel within the clinic. Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited RN program, with nursing or other healthcare experience being preferred but not required. A current RN license in the state of Missouri or a Compact state is mandatory, along with American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. The Office RN role necessitates considerable mental concentration, as well as physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 lbs, walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working conditions may involve exposure to infectious diseases, communicable diseases through bodily fluids, and occasional interactions with hostile individuals.
