Parts Counter Specialist

As a Parts Counter Specialist at James River Equipment in Salem, you will play a crucial role in providing outstanding John Deere products and services to customers. Your responsibilities will include: - Greeting walk-in customers, responding to inquiries, and selling products to meet customer needs - Processing internal parts transfer requests and supplying Service Technicians with parts as required - Assisting with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays - Verifying receipt of shipments and placing orders in their proper inventory locations - Keeping work and warehouse areas neat, clean, and organized - Maintaining department vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment - Participating in annual physical inventory To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - 1-3 years of John Deere Parts experience or 3+ years of other parts experience, preferably in comparable equipment - Ability to safely operate a forklift and obtain forklift certification - Strong verbal communication, basic computer, and math skills Additionally, you should be able to move objects weighing up to 60 pounds. The working conditions may include hazards from electrical, mechanical, and power equipment, exposure to chemicals, extremes of weather, and varying sound levels and intensities.
