As a Lead Engineer in Product Development at our Vile Parle Head Office in Mumbai, you will be responsible for spearheading the product development process for our furniture portfolio. Your role will involve technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality furniture solutions. - Guide a multidisciplinary team through concept creation, prototyping, validation, and production ramp-up. - Oversee material selection, joinery techniques, and structural testing for engineered wood products. - Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and feasibility. - Create and review CAD drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and installation guides. - Collaborate with vendors to optimize processes and resolve technical challenges. - Drive design-to-cost initiatives while maintaining product performance. Qualifications Required: - Expertise in particle-board, MDF, plywood, and knock-down joinery. - 8-12 years of experience in furniture or wood-based manufacturing. - Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools. - Familiarity with hardware systems such as Hettich and Hafele. - Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. Preferred Skills: - Exposure to lean manufacturing or Six Sigma. - Experience with PLM/ERP systems. - Knowledge of sustainable materials and eco-friendly design. Your educational background should include a Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. This role offers a salary range of 60,000 - 75,000/month (In-hand) with Monday to Saturday working days and occasional visits to the Palghar Factory.
