As a Researcher (Environment) at Ikaai India Research Pvt. Ltd., you will be responsible for conducting an evaluation study in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, focusing on the impacts of mangrove restoration and water security in the Sundarbans through community-led interventions. Your key responsibilities will include conducting field surveys, direct observations, and qualitative data collection, assessing the impact of mangrove plantation on climate resilience and biodiversity conservation, evaluating the functionality and accessibility of installed tubewells, engaging with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and community members, utilizing GIS-based and remote sensing monitoring for mangrove growth assessment, reviewing project records, reports, and financial documents, and writing the final evaluation report. To be eligible for this position, you should have a Masters degree or higher in Environmental Science, Ecology, Climate Change, or related fields, prior experience in environmental research, project evaluation, and participatory methodologies, experience working with SHGs and community-based initiatives, proficiency in Bengali, and willingness to travel to the Sundarbans for field data collection.
