As a Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on Product Design Development, you will be responsible for project ownership from inception to final delivery. With 3 to 5 years of experience, you are expected to possess a diverse skill set which includes concept design, part splitup, ID to DFM conversion, surface modeling, and plastic design. A sound knowledge of plastic product manufacturing processes such as FDM, SLA, SLS, Injection Molding, and Silicon Molding is crucial. Additionally, you should be well-versed in engineering basics, calculations, IP related enclosure design, thermal problem-solving, DFM, DFA, DFS, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis. Your role will involve hands-on experience in prototype development, testing, and validation. You should be capable of taking a project from conceptual definition to detailed production design. Critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a good understanding of Electronics & Electrical components from a cross-functional team perspective are essential. Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, will be key in this position. Proficiency in tools such as Solidworks or Creo 2.0 is required to excel in this role. Apart from technical responsibilities, you will also be expected to manage projects, liaise with clients, oversee vendors, and lead or assist in internal product development team meetings.
