As a Special Educator, you will play a crucial role in the academic and emotional development of special needs students and slow learners within a school environment. Working under the guidance of a certified instructor, you will provide individualized assistance to students, both in the classroom and in special education rooms, ensuring their well-being and safety. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and implementing personalized education plans for each student, regularly monitoring progress towards set goals, and addressing the needs of students requiring individual attention or behavioral support. Collaboration with the class teacher is essential to track student progress and make necessary adjustments to support slow learners effectively. In addition to providing academic support, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate daily data records, preparing progress reports, and conducting parent, shadow teacher, and teacher training sessions as needed. Your role will also involve close coordination with the director of educational services, class teachers, and other specialists such as Speech and Occupational therapists to ensure holistic support for the students.
