Process Analysis & Optimization Analyze production workflows, equipment layouts, and material flow to improve manufacturing efficiency. Study time and motion to identify bottlenecks and recommend lean manufacturing techniques. Implement productivity improvements and waste reduction initiatives across operations. Production Planning & Control Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to meet production targets. Collaborate with PPC and shop floor teams to reduce machine downtime and setup time. Standardize work procedures for various corrugation, printing, slotting, and stitching operations. Cost Management Monitor and analyze production costs, including labor, materials, and machine utilization. Propose cost-saving initiatives by optimizing manpower and energy usage. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for process changes and equipment upgrades. Quality & Compliance Work closely with the Quality team to ensure product consistency and adherence to client specifications. Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring defects or customer complaints. Implement control plans for critical parameters like board strength, dimensions, and print accuracy. Data & Performance Analysis Maintain performance metrics such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), yield, and scrap rates. Use statistical tools (like Six Sigma or SPC) to monitor and improve process reliability. Prepare reports and dashboards for management review. Automation & Technology Support Assist in the evaluation and implementation of automation solutions in printing, slotting, and material handling. Coordinate with equipment suppliers for performance optimization and operator training. Safety & Sustainability Promote ergonomic improvements and safe work practices on the shop floor. Contribute to sustainability goals by reducing paper waste, optimizing box designs, and improving energy efficiency. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a bridge between design, planning, production, and maintenance departments. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and feasibility studies for custom packaging solutions. Key Requirements Required Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field. Experience 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering or production optimization in a corrugated box or packaging industry. Technical Tools Knowledge: Any ERP software AutoCAD or plant layout tools (preferred) MS Excel (advanced level) Certifications (Desirable but Not Mandatory): Six Sigma (Green Belt/Yellow Belt) Lean Manufacturing Certification Other Requirements: Willingness to work on the shop floor. Flexibility for shift operations if required. Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Key Accountability Areas: Lead Engineering Operations for Paper Plants, Pulp Mill, Utility Systems, and Chemical Recovery. Ensure successful and timely completion of engineering projects within budget and quality benchmarks. Enforce stringent safety standards, identify risks, and ensure compliance with health and environmental regulations. Core Responsibilities: Head a cross-functional team comprising Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Utility, and Project Engineers. Drive Capex planning and project execution aligned with operational goals. Re-engineer operations for cost optimization, quality enhancement, and improved profitability. Ensure asset reliability through proactive maintenance and minimal breakdowns. Oversee departmental performance, meeting KPIs and operational targets. Lead predictive maintenance systems and continuous improvements across Paper Machines and Pulp Mill. Implement measures to reduce water consumption and increase machine efficiency. Strengthen vendor development and performance evaluation mechanisms. Strategic & Operational Leadership: Define departmental goals and align them with the company’s vision and strategy. Budget planning, resource allocation, and inter-departmental coordination. Standardize operational procedures, enhance productivity, and optimize manpower. Monitor KPIs and initiate improvements using tools like MTTR, MTBF, RCA, Pareto Analysis, and Inventory Turnover Ratio. Conduct quality audits, enforce corrective actions, and implement best practices. Establish clear systems for effective mechanical team management across all verticals. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with vendors. Negotiate contracts, monitor delivery performance, and control costs. Ensure supply chain reliability and adherence to quality standards. Key Requirements Extensive experience in engineering operations within the paper industry. Proven expertise in Operations & Maintenance of Paper Machines, Pulp Mill, Chemical Recovery, Utility Systems, Electrical & Instrumentation. Demonstrated ability in team leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, cost control, and project execution. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
