As an Art & Craft teacher, you should possess a combination of academic qualifications, technical skills, and personal attributes to effectively engage students in creative learning. Your role will involve working with different age groups and creating age-appropriate lesson plans to nurture students" artistic potential. Educational qualifications required for this role include a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) or a related field such as Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, or Applied Arts. Experience in teaching, particularly in a CBSE or similar curriculum school, is highly desirable. Your skills and expertise should include strong artistic abilities, knowledge of traditional and contemporary art forms, and the capability to teach various crafts like origami, embroidery, weaving, and pottery. Additionally, you should have strong classroom management skills to handle large groups of students effectively. Familiarity with digital tools like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and the ability to use projectors and multimedia tools for teaching would be beneficial. You should foster creativity in students, have an innovative approach to teaching, and create interdisciplinary projects combining art with subjects like history, geography, and science. Pedagogical knowledge including understanding child development, familiarity with the CBSE curriculum for arts and crafts, and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment are crucial.
