An Infection Control Nurse (ICN) develops, implements, and manages infection prevention and control programs within healthcare facilities . Their primary role is to minimize the risk of infections among patients, staff, and visitors by establishing and enforcing infection control policies and procedures, educating staff on best practices, and investigating and managing outbreaks. Role & responsibilities Carries out surveillance through regular contact with all hospital departments, particularly those providing patient care . During hospital rounds, should collect & maintain Various data related to dates and details of various Patients. Various data is then analyzed and interpreted together with the microbiologist. Preferred candidate profile A strong infection control nurse candidate profile will highlight expertise in infection prevention and control practices, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience in data analysis, surveillance, and education . They should also be knowledgeable about relevant guidelines like NABH and be able to investigate and manage outbreaks.
RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for allotment of rooms to the students/staff. Responsible for maintenance of the hostels. Looks after the quality of food served in the hostels. Keeps strict discipline among students of the hostels. Reports to the Chief Warden in case of any indiscipline or misbehavior by the students. Looks into the grievances/complaints of the students if found genuine. Arranges for first-aid in case of any emergency and arrange for hospitalization of student/staff, if required.
