Organisation : The Jimmy S Bilimoria Foundation (Palcare) Job Title : Palliative Care Counsellor No.of Requirements: 2 Nature of Job: You will be a member of a medical palliative care team comprising one doctor, two nurses and one psycho-social counsellor. You will visit patients at their homes. There, as part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will help individuals and families cope with the emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual challenges associated with life-limiting illnesses, thereby improving their quality of life. You will be assigned a zone close to your home to minimize travel time to patients. This is a 9:30 am to 5:30 p.m. job – leaving your evenings free. Qualification : Master’s Degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology with at least 3-4 years of experience. Some of this experience with psychiatric population is preferred. Excellent know-how of DSM as well as therapeutic techniques. Reporting To: Senior Psychologist, PALCARE Experience : 3 – 4 years Location / Place of Job : Mumbai Metropoiltan Region Languages: Marathi, English, Hindi Remuneration: Your salary will be generous and commensurate with your years of experience. The position is in Mumbai. Accommodation is not provided and applicants must make their own arrangements. Personal characteristics: Caring attitude to patients and their families. Effective communication skills, preferably in English/ Hindi / Marathi. Dedication to the job and hard working. Willingness to travel from home to home as this an on-field job. Willingness to undergo specialised training for a period of 6 weeks or more and regular refresher courses thereon. Must be willing to make a commitment to the organization for a minimum of 3 years and ideally 5. Palliative care is a discipline which interests you and something you would like to pursue long term.
