Job Role : Assistant Manager - Packaging Development Job Location : Navi Mumbai Reporting to : Business Head Department : Packaging Dvpt. Departments Activity: Sales & distribution of packaging to cosmetics & personal care industry Packaging development for in-house brands as well as to support contract manufacturing division Job Summary The role asks for an experienced and dynamic candidate with sound knowledge and insights in the cosmetic packaging world. Should have aptitude to execute multifunctional roles to support all organisations activities. The role involves sourcing of innovative packaging from global suppliers, targeting market needs to sell to the industry and to serve internal team needs. Role & Key responsibilities : Partner with international packaging manufacturers to source and develop innovative material for stock and sales. Stay updated on industry trends, innovations, and technologies in cosmetic packaging. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for packaging, including material, labeling, recyclability, and product safety. Assess and procure brand aligned packaging materials that complies with regulatory standards, sustainability goals, and cost-effectiveness. Partner with QA and Operations to address technical packaging issues and implement corrective actions. Oversee timelines, budgets, and deliverables across multiple product launches, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within financial parameters. Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, compatibility testing, and risk assessments for new and existing packaging components. Skills and Qualification : Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, from Indian Inst of Packaging (IIP) 8+ years of experience in packaging development within the cosmetics, beauty, or personal care industry. Strong knowledge of primary and secondary packaging materials (plastics, glass, paperboard, etc.). Proven track record of launching products from concept through production. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, and printing.

Role & responsibilities : Design & Development: Develop primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions that align with product requirements and brand identity. Conduct feasibility studies and prototyping using CAD software and material samples. Innovate new packaging designs to improve shelf appeal, user experience, functionality, Cost effectiveness, Packaging utilization and container/Vehicle utilization considering the business requirement and premises Material Selection & Sourcing: Evaluate and select appropriate packaging materials (paperboard, plastic, metal, etc.) based on product needs, budget, and environmental impact. Liaise with packaging vendors and manufacturers to ensure material availability, compliance, and quality. Testing & Compliance: Conduct or oversee performance and safety testing (drop, compression, vibration, temperature, etc.) in accordance with relevant standards. Ensure packaging complies with industry regulations, labeling laws, and sustainability standards. Cost Optimization & Sustainability: Drive cost reductions through packaging redesigns, material substitution, or process improvements. Lead sustainability initiatives including packaging minimization, recyclability, and use of biodegradable or reusable materials. Project Management: Manage end-to-end packaging projects from concept through production. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing, engineering, supply chain, and external vendors.

We are currently looking for a Head Logistics Engineering to join our client (a leading asset pooling company) in Mumbai. This is a critical leadership role within our Solutions Design team, focusing on logistics, transport, and packaging solutions. Key Requirements: Minimum 15 years of experience in the packaging industry (FMCG, Pharma, Beverages preferred). Strong expertise in packaging materials (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary) and customized automotive packaging . Hands-on experience in project management, supplier relations, and process compliance . Knowledge of AQL Inspection, Testing, 5S, QC Tools, CAPA, Kaizen, and SOP preparation . Familiarity with 3D and 2D packaging design and Microsoft Project Software is an added advantage. Age: Ideally between 30-35 years . Preferably from IIPM or similar background working in companies using plastic-based packaging, a person reporting to the Packaging Head. CTC: Upto 45 lakhs+ (80 % fixed, 10 % variable, 10% long term incentives), additionally ESOPs may also be offered.
