We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Engineer with proven expertise in industrial gear, shaft, and structural parts packaging . This role involves designing and standardizing transport and packaging solutions for a global manufacturing network. The position focuses on ensuring product integrity, cost efficiency, compliance with international standards, and seamless logistics across multiple overseas plants. Key Responsibilities Design and validate internal (transport) and external packaging systems for gears, shafts, and drivetrain components. Collaborate with product design, logistics, and quality teams to ensure packaging aligns with technical and regulatory requirements. Develop internal handling and transportation devices to optimize cost, prevent quality issues, and improve efficiency . Create returnable and expendable packaging solutions based on part geometry, weight, and fragility. Optimize packaging design for space utilization, ergonomics, safety, and sustainability . Analyze and standardize existing packaging solutions; define best practices by product group within plants. Prepare and maintain packaging documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs, and work instructions . Work closely with suppliers and 3PLs to source packaging materials and manage inventory. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to minimize quality issues, packaging costs, and environmental impact. Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to develop and implement packaging solutions for both in-process and finished products . Technical Skills Expertise in packaging concept design & development . Knowledge of machining and gear cutting processes (hobbing, shaping, gear grinding, turning, HMC, VMC, VTL, SPM, etc.). Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA). Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools . Additional Skills Knowledge of packaging materials (corrugated, foam, plastics, metals) and related manufacturing processes. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and supply chain logistics is an advantage. Willingness to travel (domestic & international) as required.
