The incumbent will be responsible for creating and leading the quality engineering and automation framework for the SonyLIV platform's Middleware/API gateway product for the AGL project. The position title is Staff Engineer, QA Automation, Digital Business, and the location is Mumbai/Bangalore (WFO). The ideal candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Working knowledge of middleware or API gateway applications is required. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for API Gateway products, covering all aspects of API testing. The candidate should have experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on backend API testing of backend systems. Automating API/UI/Unit tests and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments is essential. Additionally, experience in backend testing with a deep knowledge of API and HTTP protocol, message queues, lambda function, base, and AWS services is required. Good understanding of AWS log analysis and work experience in OTT applications is desirable. The candidate should design and implement robust automation frameworks for both back-end systems using industry-standard open-source tools (e.g., RestAssured, Pytest, etc.). Solid work experience in testing and automating OTT-based backend applications is crucial. Designing and implementing quality processes and quality metrics for applications across platforms is also part of the responsibilities. The candidate should have a good understanding of processes and methodologies with the ability to adapt and improvise in various situations. Responsibilities also include developing automation dashboards and reports for quality engineering, performing timely evaluations of new technologies and methodologies, and designing test plans to simulate high user concurrency and monitor key performance metrics. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or any other programming language to lead efforts on backend and frontend automation tasks are required. Understanding the Software Development Lifecycle and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs are essential. The successful candidate must be a good team player, able to work independently under pressure, and possess a strategic mindset. They should be able to prioritize and cope with competing demands, possess a sense of urgency and excellent execution and project management skills, and navigate ambiguity effectively. Passion for results and excellence, as well as inquisitive and analytical thinking, are important traits for this role. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, high energy, motivation, and a positive outlook. They should have a do-it-yourself orientation, be able to deal with ambiguity, and develop creative solutions while anticipating and mitigating risks.
