The OT Staff Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role involves preparing the OT before surgery, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and ensuring post-operative care and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the operation theatre, including setting up surgical instruments and sterile drapes.
Ensure availability and functioning of all necessary surgical equipment.
Assist surgeons and anesthetists during surgical procedures.
Monitor patient’s vitals and anesthesia status throughout the procedure.
Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and maintain sterile field.
Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and nursing interventions.
Coordinate with surgical team for pre-op and post-op care.
Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital policy.
Provide immediate emergency care if complications arise.
Communicate effectively with patients and their family members as needed.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Good knowledge of OT protocols and aseptic techniques
Ability to handle surgical equipment with precision
Strong observation and decision-making skills
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Quick responsiveness in emergency situations
Familiarity with NABH standards (preferred)

Educational Qualification:

B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid nursing council registration
