OT Assistant

Job Summary:

The OT Assistant supports surgeons, anesthetists, and nurses during surgical procedures by ensuring the operating theatre is clean, sterile, and well-prepared. The role involves handling instruments, assisting during surgeries, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards throughout all procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operation theatre before each surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterilized and arranged properly.
• Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Check and maintain surgical instruments, drapes, and other OT supplies.
• Clean and disinfect the OT after each procedure according to hospital infection control protocols.
• Transport patients to and from the OT safely.
• Handle surgical specimens as directed by the surgical team.
• Support in maintaining records of surgical instruments and consumables.
• Ensure availability and functioning of all necessary equipment before surgery.

Qualifications Required:

• 10+2 (Science preferred).
• Diploma or certification in Operation Theatre Technology / Assistant course.
• Experience of 1–3 years in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of OT procedures, sterilization techniques, and infection control.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of medical equipment handling.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,070.47 - ₹18,000.00 per month
