As a Registrar at our Coimbatore location, your role involves the following responsibilities: - Inform the concerned consultant promptly upon patient admission. - Perform and document history & physical examination. - Formulate a differential diagnosis. - Develop and document the initial plan of care. - Implement the basic plan of care and checklist as per the labor room PROTOCOL book. - Modify the daily plan of care as needed. - Write daily progress notes. - Obtain and document informed consent. - Conduct preoperative workup. - Order appropriate investigations. - Interpret hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients. - Analyze laboratory & radiology results. - Order transfusions of blood and blood products. - Prescribe appropriate medication and other necessary orders. - Prepare a comprehensive discharge summary and explain discharge orders to the patient. - Maintain duty report in the duty register and ensure written handover and takeover are completed (to be reviewed daily by in-house consultants). - Fill out insurance forms to be signed by the concerned consultant. - Perform pelvic examinations, Pap smears, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. - Order and adjust artificial feeding modalities. - Perform nasogastric intubation and insert urethral catheters.
