Oracle Developer

Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze Procedures:

  Review and understand current database procedures and explain how they work in simple, easy-to-understand language.

• Database Design:

  Architect and structure databases for optimal organization and accessibility.

• Normalization:

  Organize data to eliminate redundancy and improve data integrity.

• Procedure Development:

  Write new stored procedures and enhance or optimize existing ones.

• User Privileges:

  Set up and manage user permissions to maintain data security and proper access controls.

• Data Dictionary Creation:

  Document all database objects (tables, columns, etc.) to support developers and users.

• Space Management:

  Monitor and manage database storage to ensure efficient space utilization.

• Views, Indexes, and Cursors:

  Create and manage views, indexes, and cursors for data access and performance.

• Functions:

  Develop and maintain reusable database functions for business logic.

• Performance Tuning:

  Identify and resolve performance issues in queries and procedures.

• DB-Driven Job Scheduling:

  Set up, configure, and manage job schedulers (such as DBMS_SCHEDULER) to automate database tasks.

• Oracle DB Migration:

  Plan and execute Oracle database migrations, including data and schema transfer, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

• OCI Knowledge (Advantageous):

  Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a plus.

Required Skills:

• Solid experience with Oracle databases (SQL, PL/SQL, procedures, functions, triggers)
• Ability to explain complex logic in simple, non-technical terms
• Database design and normalization expertise
• Experience in managing user permissions and database security
• Ability to create and document data dictionaries
• Understanding of space management in Oracle databases
• Experience with views, indexes, cursors, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Oracles database job scheduler (e.g., DBMS_SCHEDULER, DBMS_JOB)
• Hands-on experience in migrating Oracle databases (data and schema migration)
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Knowledge of OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is an added advantage

Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5 to 7 years of experience as an Oracle Developer or Database Developer
