Oracle RDB Administrator

Oracle RDB administration

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and manage

  Oracle RDB on the OpenVMS platform

  .
• Install, configure, and maintain

  Oracle RDB databases

  in OCI and OpenVMS environments.
• Implement and manage

  RDB & AIJ backup procedures

  .
• Execute and validate

  database restoration scenarios

  with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Manage

  cluster environments

  (Active/Passive setup) and perform safe node switching.
• Configure, start, stop, and monitor

  RDB replication processes

  .
• Perform

  graceful shutdowns and restarts

  of RDB databases.
• Oversee

  SQL administration within RDB

  , including query optimization.
• Manage

  transaction handling and commits

  to maintain data consistency.
• Monitor and tune RDB performance for high availability and efficiency.
• Provide

  technical documentation

  and knowledge transfer for internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in

  Oracle RDB Administration

  on OpenVMS.
• Strong working knowledge of

  Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

  .
• Hands-on experience with:

• RDB & AIJ backups

• Database recovery & restoration

• Cluster management

  (active/passive)

• RDB replication

  setup and management

• SQL administration within RDB

• Familiarity with

  OpenVMS operations

  and system-level administration.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in mission-critical environments.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
