Clinical Expertise-Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, including refractive errors, diseases and other visual disorders. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using a variety of diagnostic equipment and techniques to assess patients' visual acuity and overall eye health. Diagnose and manage various eye conditions, including refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia), ocular diseases (such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy), binocular vision disorders, and other visual abnormalities. Prescribe and fit appropriate corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, based on patient needs and lifestyle. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients with ocular conditions, including prescribing medications as permitted by scope of practice. Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery, coordinating with ophthalmologists as necessary. Educate patients on their eye conditions, treatment options, and preventative eye care practices to promote long-term eye health. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and professional standards. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to ensure integrated patient care. Stay current with the latest advancements in optometry, diagnostic technology, and treatment modalities through continuing education and professional development. Provide emergency eye care as needed.
