You will be part of a team at Digantara that is redefining space safety and sustainability by delivering real-time, actionable insights for secure and sustainable use of Earth's orbits through advanced space surveillance and intelligence. Your role as an Optomechanical Engineer will involve developing innovative designs for telescope systems and high-precision optical assemblies for both terrestrial and space applications. Here's what you can expect: **Responsibilities:** - Develop innovative optomechanical designs for telescope systems and high-precision optical assemblies for terrestrial and space applications. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and design constraints, ensuring integration meets stringent mission objectives. - Conduct feasibility studies, technical risk assessments, and analysis under operational and environmental loads. - Utilize CAD software for detailed models, mechanical layouts, and technical documentation. - Perform structural and thermal FEA for optomechanical trade studies. - Select components, materials, and processes for mounting precision optics in extreme environments. - Develop procedures for optical alignment, system assembly, and verification testing. - Manage vendor relationships and coordinate fabrication, procurement, and quality inspection. - Engage in prototyping, integration, testing, and validation of designs. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. - 2-3 years of experience in optomechanical design for high-precision instrumentation. - Proficiency in mechanical design principles, structural mechanics, and geometric dimensioning. - Experience with industry-standard FEA software and thermal management. - Knowledge of metrology/alignment techniques and quality control practices. **Preferred Qualities:** - Experience with manufacturing drawings and release documentation. - Knowledge of machining processes, advanced materials, and space-qualified components. - Familiarity with optical system metrics and integration/testing under various conditions. - Understanding of quality control, inspection methods, and technical supplier evaluation.
