You will be responsible for the design and development, photometric testing, and problem-solving in the field of lighting systems for interior and exterior aircraft lighting. Your role will involve working on optical components such as free form optics, reflectors, and lenses, as well as collaborating on optical simulations and calculations to implement illuminant and optical systems into the product. You should have a good understanding of LED modeling, ray tracing, and photometric & radiometric quantities. To excel in this role, you should possess knowledge in optics, opto-electronics, and illumination optics. Familiarity with optical equipment like Spectrometer, Luminance meter, and Lux meter is essential. Additionally, you should be well-versed in measuring methods for determining light intensity, color, and optical components fabrication processes. Experience with power budget calculations, color science, LED reliability studies, thermal management for LED-based lighting systems, and optical testing tools is crucial. Proficiency in optical modeling software tools such as Helios, Light Tools, or TracePro, as well as CAD software like CATIA V5, Solid Works, and AutoCAD is required. Candidates with fundamental knowledge of light source (LED) driving conditions, testing automation coding skills, LabView, Matlab, and C programming will be preferred for this role.
