Experience : 4 - 8 years in OpenShift / Kubernetes Platform Operations OpenShift Support Engineer L2 to manage and operate RedHat OpenShift clusters in production environments. You will work in a managed services setup supporting Day 2 operations, automation tasks, and platform troubleshooting. As an L2 Engineer, you will be responsible for moderate-level cluster operations , service configurations, and supporting developer teams with platform-related requirements. Roles & Responsibilities Manage pod-level activities, services, routes, config maps, secrets, and PVCs. Perform OpenShift resource provisioning, project creation, and RBAC updates. Assist in worker node patching, reboots, and capacity checks. Analyze logs, identify performance issues, and support incident resolution. Coordinate with development teams for app deployment, scaling, and ingress routing. Support day-to-day administration tasks such as image pulls, quota management, and monitoring. Participate in change requests, DR drills, and shift-based support operations. Required Skills 25 years of experience supporting Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms. Strong in: OCP CLI (oc), Helm charts, Operators, and YAML templating RHEL/Linux system administration and scripting (Bash/Python) RBAC, service exposure, image management, and volume handling Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/EFK stack basics Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD) and GitOps concepts. OpenShift Support Engineer L1 to support day-to-day operations of Red Hat OpenShift clusters under a managed services model. This role is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of Linux systems and a keen interest in building a career in Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies. You will be part of a structured support team, focusing on monitoring, routine checks, ticket triaging , and assisting L2/L3 engineers in maintaining the stability of OpenShift platforms. Support pod-level actions such as start/stop/delete. Maintain shift logs, daily service reports, and perform routine checklist-based validations. Track backup job status, cron tasks, and cluster alerts. Escalate issues to L2/L3 after basic validation. Required Skills 6 months to 2 years of experience in technical support or platform operations. Familiarity with: Linux commands and system administration (RHEL/CentOS) Kubernetes/OpenShift basics – pods, services, namespaces CLI tools: oc, kubectl YAML and containerization concepts Willingness to work in shifts and follow structured support processes.
