Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our leadership team as Head Mining . The ideal candidate will have 15 to 20 years of hands-on experience in Overburden (OB) Removal and Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) works. This role will be based in Chennai and will be responsible for overseeing operations across multiple mining sites pan India . Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage end-to-end mining operations across multiple sites in India. Plan, execute, and monitor OB removal and MDO projects ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency. Ensure adherence to statutory and environmental regulations at all mining sites. Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams for seamless coordination. Drive operational excellence and implement best practices in mining operations. Lead and mentor a team of mining professionals and support staff. Develop strategic plans for mining expansion and resource optimization. Requirements: Bachelors/Masters degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline. 15 to 20 years of proven experience in mining operations, specifically in OB removal and MDO projects. Strong understanding of mining regulations, safety, and environmental norms. Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills. Willingness to travel to mine locations across India as required. Responsible for leading the HR and Admin function at the mining project site, ensuring manpower availability, statutory compliance, industrial relations, camp administration, and employee welfare in a remote and operationally intensive environment. Human Resources: Manpower planning & recruitment for site operations. Employee onboarding, training, and performance management. Handle grievances, disciplinary actions, and IR matters. Maintain attendance, payroll inputs, and HR documentation. Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Mines Act, CLRA, Factory Act, etc. Liaison with govt. bodies and handle labor inspections. Maintain records and ensure timely statutory reporting. Administration: Oversee camp operations: accommodation, food, sanitation. Manage site transport, security, and office facilities. Vendor and contract management for admin services. Coordination: Interface with corporate HR and local authorities. Prepare periodic HR/Admin MIS reports for management. Preferred candidate profile MBA / PGDM in HR, MSW, or equivalent qualification. 14 - 20 years of experience in HR & Admin roles, preferably in mining, infrastructure, or heavy industry. In-depth knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices. Experience in managing large workforce at remote project sites. Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English and local language preferred.
