Department: Maintenance Reports To: COO Position Overview: The Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities across the plant/facility to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves developing preventive maintenance programs, managing maintenance staff, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance Planning & Execution Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs. Ensure timely upkeep and servicing of all machines, utilities, and infrastructure. Minimise breakdowns and ensure smooth plant operations through effective maintenance scheduling. 2. Team Leadership & Management Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team (mechanical, electrical – CNC Machine instrumentation/PLC, etc.). Allocate manpower and resources effectively based on production schedules and priorities. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. 3. Equipment & Asset Management Monitor equipment performance and plan for timely replacements, refurbishments, or upgrades. Maintain detailed records of maintenance history, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance. Root cause analysis of Major or Frequent Breakdowns. Collaborate with procurement for spares, consumables, and vendor services. 4. Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs without compromising reliability. Track maintenance KPIs such as downtime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures). 5. Continuous Improvement & Projects Implement modern maintenance techniques (TPM, 5S, Kaizen, etc.) for process optimization. Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives in maintenance. Participate in new project installations, commissioning, and technical evaluations. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical – CNC Machines, and automation systems. Expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Leadership and team management skills. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Good understanding of maintenance software (CMMS / ERP). Excellent planning, communication, and reporting skills. Qualification & Experience: Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (preferred). Experience: 10–15 years of experience in plant/facility maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
