Officer - Communications Alumni Relations

As a Communications Specialist at our organization, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with the Director to drive various communication programs and initiatives aimed at establishing the Somaiya Identity. Your responsibilities will revolve around promoting brand identity, managing communications for events and activities, overseeing newsletters and forums, and leveraging social media platforms, including AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Canva, and D-iD. Additionally, you will be involved in crafting effective communications for both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate for this position should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Communication, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. Proficiency in languages such as Gujarati and Marathi (in addition to Hindi/English) is preferred. You should have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in communications, social media management, or digital marketing, with a proven track record in utilizing AI tools and a strong command of various social media platforms. Your role will require you to have at least 4 to 5 years of experience in a similar position within a large multi-institution group. Experience in promoting brand identity, managing communications for events, and targeting specific alumni groups will be essential. You should possess skills in SEO identification, content creation (including copywriting and visual design), website development and management, newsletter creation, and utilizing AI tools to enhance communication strategies. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring the Alumni website, planning and executing effective communication strategies, targeting different alumni segments for information dissemination, and collaborating with external partners. Strong project management skills and the ability to integrate AI tools into communication strategies for optimal outreach will be key to your success in this role.
