Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Logistics Head to lead and manage end-to-end logistics operations for a heavy steel fabrication plant. The role involves planning, coordinating, and optimizing inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and fabricated structures, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, safety, and compliance Role & responsibilities Plan and manage transportation of raw materials and finished steel structures, including ODC (Over Dimensional Cargo). Oversee warehouse, yard, and dispatch operations ensuring safety and efficiency. Optimize logistics cost and ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries. Manage vendor contracts, negotiations, and coordination with rail/road/port authorities. Ensure statutory compliance (RTO, customs, GST, pollution control). Implement ERP/SAP systems for tracking, scheduling, and dispatch management. Drive continuous improvement in fleet utilization, fuel efficiency, and logistics performance. Lead logistics & dispatch teams, ensuring strong vendor and stakeholder coordination. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (MBA preferred). 12-18 years of experience in logistics/material handling, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Expertise in heavy/oversized cargo handling, trailers, hydraulic axles, cranes, and forklifts. Proven experience in ODC cargo movement, route planning, and government clearances. Strong track record in safety, compliance, and logistics cost optimization. Key Deliverables Safe, timely delivery of raw materials & fabricated structures. Reduction in logistics cost per ton.
