Key Responsibilities : • Build and maintain comprehensive zero-based cost (ZBC) models and should-cost estimates for power electronics (Junction box, OBC, DC DC converter) and powertrain components((Motor, Controller, Battery ). • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to extract inputs for accurate cost modeling. • Break down and evaluate supplier quotations to identify cost anomalies, value gaps, and negotiation opportunities. • Work closely with Engineering, R&D, Procurement, and Finance to support design-to-cost (DTC) and value engineering (VE) initiatives. • Conduct benchmarking across suppliers and regions for market competitiveness and cost trends. • Track raw material and commodity trends to assess cost impact on critical EV systems. • Provide technical and cost-based support during RFQ processes and commercial negotiations with suppliers. • Assess manufacturing processes such as PCBA, casting, molding, magnetics, winding, welding, and battery module integration. • Participate in supplier audits to validate cost drivers, process capabilities, and tool/equipment cost assumptions. • Prepare cost reports and present findings to senior stakeholders for decision support. Required Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or related field. • 4+ years of experience in costing, technical procurement, or product development in the EV or automotive industry, specifically in power electronics and powertrain systems. • Expertise in zero-based costing, should-cost modeling, and detailed cost breakdown analysis. • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and engineering documents. • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for inverters, motors, battery packs, and PCBAs. • Proficient in Excel, cost modeling tools, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). • Strong communication skills to interface with engineering teams and suppliers, and support negotiation efforts.
