The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and solutions for automated conveyor systems. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, CAD software proficiency, and a deep understanding of conveyor system design and functionality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and solutions for automated conveyor systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and technicians to conceptualize and execute conveyor system designs from inception to completion. 3. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to optimize conveyor system designs for efficiency, reliability, and safety. 4. Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks,Inventor or similar) to create detailed mechanical drawings, models, and simulations for conveyor system components and assemblies. 5. Perform stress analysis, structural analysis, and motion simulations to validate design concepts and identify areas for improvement. 6. Generate technical documentation, including design specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions, to support manufacturing, installation, and maintenance activities. 7. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials, components, and equipment required for conveyor system projects, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. 8. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in conveyor system design and automation to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. 9. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, addressing design-related issues, challenges, and modifications as needed. 10. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and professionalism in all aspects of mechanical design engineering activities. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Proven experience (3-6 years) in mechanical design engineering within the automation industry, with a focus on conveyor systems. - Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools. - Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science. - Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) techniques is desirable. - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate and interact with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders. - Proven track record of successfully delivering mechanical design projects on time and within budget constraints. - Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to conveyor system design, safety, and compliance (e.g., ANSI, ISO, OSHA) is advantageous. - Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for innovation and excellence in mechanical design engineering for automation applications
Key Responsibilities 1. Procurement & Purchase Management Identify procurement requirements based on project schedules, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and stock levels. Float RFQs (Request for Quotations) to approved vendors and negotiate prices, terms, and delivery timelines. Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company policies. Track deliveries to ensure timely receipt and follow up on delays. 2. Vendor Development & Management Machining Parts Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers for precision machining parts such as shafts, gears, brackets, flanges, housings, and custom components used in industrial automation equipment. Assess vendor capabilities in CNC, VMC, turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and surface treatment processes. Conduct technical audits to verify manufacturing capacity, equipment condition, process controls, and quality inspection systems. Work with vendors to ensure adherence to drawing tolerances, surface finish, and metallurgical requirements. Develop alternate sources to mitigate supply risks and improve competitiveness. Coordinate with the Design and Quality teams for sample approvals, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and first article inspection. Monitor vendor delivery performance, rejection rates, and responsiveness, taking corrective actions when required. Negotiate pricing based on machining complexity, raw material procurement, cycle times, and order volumes. Support vendors in process improvements, tooling upgrades, and productivity enhancements to reduce lead time and cost. 3. Cost Optimization & Negotiation Negotiate contracts to achieve the best value in terms of price, payment terms, and service levels. Implement cost reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing, bulk purchases, and vendor performance improvements. 4. Compliance & Documentation Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Maintain updated vendor database, price lists, and purchase records. Ensure quality control by coordinating with the QC team for inspection and approval. 5. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with Engineering, Projects, and Production teams to ensure timely availability of materials. Liaise with Finance for vendor payments and resolving invoice disputes. Qualifications Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering. Experience: 26 years in purchase/vendor development in the industrial automation or related manufacturing sector. Preferred: Knowledge of ISO quality standards, import/export processes, and cost analysis.
