Job Description

1.

  • Prepare and manage the nursing manpower budget to ensure optimal resource utilization while meeting clinical requirements.
  • Work with department heads and HR to forecast nursing staffing needs based on patient volume and acuity levels.
  • Ensure alignment of the manpower budget with departmental goals, and monitor adherence to budget throughout the year.

2.

  • Develop and implement a specific recruitment plan to hire specialized nurses in alignment with hospital requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure timely recruitment of skilled nursing staff across various specialties.
  • Oversee the recruitment process to ensure the hiring of qualified, experienced, and motivated nurses in the relevant specialty areas.

3.

  • Ensure an optimal Nurse-Patient ratio to provide quality patient care while adhering to regulatory and hospital standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the Nurse-Patient ratio across various units to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
  • Work with nursing leadership to adjust staffing as needed to meet patient care demands.

4. Collaboration with HR

  • Ensure seamless collaboration with HR for efficient manpower management and staff welfare.
  • Coordinate with HR for recruitment, retention strategies, and the timely resolution of staffing issues.
  • Support HR in organizing staff engagement and retention initiatives.

5.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan to promote a culture of patient safety within the nursing team.
  • Design, schedule, and execute ongoing safety training programs for nursing staff to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and refine as needed to meet safety objectives.

6.

  • Analyze patient satisfaction surveys and feedback, implementing action plans to address concerns and enhance the patient experience.
  • Review patient feedback and identify trends or recurring issues that may impact satisfaction.
  • Work with nursing staff to develop and implement action plans addressing patient concerns, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with the Patient Relations department to develop initiatives that improve patient satisfaction scores.

7.

  • Drive improvements in clinical outcomes by ensuring evidence-based nursing practices are in place.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to implement best practices and protocols that contribute to better patient outcomes.
  • Track clinical outcomes and identify areas where nursing interventions can improve patient health results.

8.

  • Achieve established quality benchmarks and ensure continuous improvement in key quality indicators related to nursing care.
  • Monitor quality indicators such as infection rates, patient falls, and pressure ulcers.
  • Lead nursing initiatives to meet or exceed quality targets, focusing on continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards.

9.

  • Foster a strong culture of learning and development, ensuring nursing staff have access to continuous education and growth opportunities.
  • Establish a clear, structured L&D plan for nursing staff, including skill development, leadership training, and specialty certifications.
  • Encourage and support professional development through mentorship programs, workshops, and conferences.
  • Track and report on the impact of L&D programs on staff performance and patient outcomes.

10.

  • Implement strategies to retain and engage nursing staff, reducing turnover and promoting job satisfaction.
  • Develop retention strategies, including recognition programs, career advancement opportunities, and work-life balance initiatives.
  • Conduct regular engagement surveys and feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement in staff satisfaction.
  • Work closely with HR and nursing leadership to address staff concerns and create a positive work environment.
