Job Title: Nurse – Children’s Home

Location: Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust, T. Nagar, Chennai

Reports To: Unit Head / Medical Officer

Job Type: Full-time (Willing to work on night shifts)

Job Summary:

The nurse will be responsible for the health, hygiene, and overall well-being of children residing in the Bala Mandir Children’s Home, especially infants and toddlers (0–2 years). The role involves providing medical care, administering medication, maintaining health records, and supporting the daily care routine, including feeding and attending to the needs of the younger children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the health and hygiene of all children in the Home.
• Provide special care and feeding support for infants and toddlers (0–2 years), including preparing and feeding milk or meals as per schedule.
• Feed the medications to children as prescribed by the doctor.
• Handle minor illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies efficiently.
• Ensure the infirmary, feeding area, and medical supplies are well-maintained and hygienic.
• Offer emotional comfort and support to children during sickness or treatment.
• Collaborate with caregivers and other staff for the smooth functioning of the unit.
• Be available and alert during night shifts to attend to feeding schedules and any medical needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / B.Sc. in Nursing (Registered Nurse).
• Freshers and experienced candidates are both welcome, preferably with experience in pediatric, neonatal, or childcare settings.
• Ability to manage infants’ and children’s care with patience and attentiveness.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
