Role Overview: The Planning Lead will be responsible for developing and managing the integrated project schedule for the DRI plant. This includes coordinating inputs from engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and logistics teams to build a comprehensive, logical, and trackable schedule. The role requires ensuring proper sequencing, identifying critical paths, providing early delay warnings, and aligning stakeholders for timely decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Role & responsibilities Develop and maintain a Level 1 to Level 5 project schedule encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases. Break down high-level Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) into detailed tasks, incorporating predecessors and successors to clarify dependencies and ensure accurate critical path analysis. Collaborate with discipline leads and contractors to collect schedule inputs and progress updates. Identify and monitor critical paths, key milestones, and potential schedule risks. Support the creation of baseline schedules, recovery plans, and what-if scenarios. Coordinate with cost control and project controls teams to ensure integrated planning efforts. Prepare regular schedule updates, dashboards, and detailed management reports. Provide early warnings and actionable recommendations to mitigate delays. Ensure schedule logic aligns with procurement and construction sequences. Assess and allocate resources, including labour, equipment, and materials to support construction and commissioning schedules. Track project progress against the baseline schedule, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions to keep the project on track. Provide regular reports, including Gantt charts, critical path updates, and resource utilization metrics to project management and stakeholders. Conduct schedule risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for delays, such as supply chain disruptions or weather impacts. Work closely with contractors, engineering consultants and vendors to ensure schedules reflect realistic timelines and resource availability. Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on priorities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and clarify responsibilities for tasks. Communicate schedule updates and dependencies to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability across teams. Ensure schedules comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices for DRI plant construction Preferred candidate profile B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution. 15 to 20 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large industrial projects (preferably in DRI, steel, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors). Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. Strong understanding of EPC lifecycle phases and critical path methodology. Experience in interface coordination and delay analysis. Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

Lead - Construction (Gas Based DRI) mumbai 20 - 25 years INR 65.0 - 85.0 Lacs P.A. Work from Office Full Time

Role Overview: We are looking for a seasoned project leader to head the greenfield/brownfield project for Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant. The incumbent will be responsible for Construction, Procurement & commissioning. This role demands technical expertise in DRI plant technologies (Gas-based, preferably MIDREX technology), large-scale project management skills, and the ability to drive execution through cross-functional coordination and rigorous monitoring. The role will have full ownership and accountability for budget, timeline, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Incumbent will report to Global Project head. Role & responsibilities: Construction & Execution: Ensure developing the Master Project Schedule (MPS); proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project is expected. Lead civil construction, mechanical erection, electrical and instrumentation work in phased execution. Ensure effective coordination with site teams, contractors, and safety teams to maintain productivity and compliance. Implement robust HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) protocols and ensure zero-incident performance. Procurement & Supply Chain: Lead the development of procurement schedules, long-lead item tracking, and logistics planning. Ensure all equipment and material procurement is aligned with the overall project timeline. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for factory inspections, and certifications. Technology & Vendor Finalization: Lead evaluation and selection of technology licensors, OEMs, and engineering consultants for DRI modules and auxiliary systems (e.g., waste heat recovery, gas handling). Drive the EPC/EPCM contract strategy, including bid evaluation, negotiations, and contract finalization. Oversee vendor finalization for major packages: reduction furnaces, reformers, material handling systems, cooling systems, etc. Basic and Detailed Engineering: Finalize Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in collaboration with engineering consultants. Oversee the preparation and review of layout drawings, plant civil/structural plans, utility integration, and automation schemes. Ensure alignment of basic engineering with OEM specifications and process guarantees. Testing and Commissioning: Coordinate cold and hot commissioning of all DRI plant units and supporting facilities (e.g., raw material handling, control systems, gas trains, effluent treatment). Ensure testing and ramp-up is done in compliance with process guarantees and performance benchmarks. Monitor plant performance during stabilization and handover phase to Operations. Cost, Risk & Quality Management: Ensure adherence to approved project budgets and control cost overruns. Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and contingency management throughout the project. Maintain high-quality standards with respect to engineering deliverables, installation, and commissioning. Drive regular project reviews, milestone tracking, and progress reporting to top management. Preferred candidate profile B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Electrical / Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution. 20 to 25 years in project execution with steel industry, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years in leading DRI or similar projects of Iron & steel industry. Deep knowledge of DRI plant processes and technologies (Midrex, HYL). Proficient in project planning tools (Primavera, MS Project, ERP integration). Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation, claim management, and dispute resolution. Proven track record in managing the full lifecycle of large industrial EPC projects. Experience working with international vendors and licensors is highly desirable. PMP Certification / M.Tech / MBA in Project Management (preferred). Ready to travel extensively for project related work for longer duration at international locations.
