The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all manufacturing activities to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing manpower, materials, machinery, and methods to optimize productivity while maintaining safety and compliance. Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer demand and deadlines. Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure smooth workflow on the shop floor. Monitor production output, quality, and efficiency against established KPIs. Coordinate with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, and Stores to ensure uninterrupted production. Lead, train, and supervise production staff, operators, and supervisors. Enforce safety rules and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies. Control production costs, minimize wastage, and ensure effective resource utilization. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports for management review. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, breakdowns, and process bottlenecks.
Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and systems. Perform inspections, audits, and tests to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP). Monitor production processes and identify areas of improvement to minimize defects and rework. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, design, and supply chain to resolve quality issues. Review and approve quality-related documentation such as SOPs, inspection reports, and calibration records. Analyze quality data and prepare reports on product performance, defects, and trends. Support supplier quality management by conducting vendor evaluations and audits.
