NOSQL Database Administrator

As a Senior Database Engineer at R1, you will play a crucial role in administering and maintaining NoSQL and relational SQL Server/MySQL Databases. Your primary responsibility will involve working with multiple NoSQL clusters on Azure, including MongoDB, Cosmos, Couchbase, and SQL Server environments. Your passion for automating development and production environments will be key, as you install, configure, monitor, design, implement, and support mission-critical databases. Collaboration with internal engineering teams is essential to gather requirements and deliver on various database platforms. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will have ample opportunities to enhance your skills with the latest technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create, administer, monitor, and maintain Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cosmos, and Couchbase environments - Design and implement optimized NoSQL databases in collaboration with development teams - Implement relational databases, tables, and table changes - Support application development for problem solving and performance tuning - Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server environments, including disaster recovery - Design logical/physical database designs for applications and infrastructure - Provide after-hours support for database emergencies, routine maintenance, and server patching - Collaborate with business and engineering teams to understand and plan for storage and database needs - Implement, configure, maintain, and optimize SQL Server RDBMS systems in Azure cloud **Qualifications Required:** - 5+ years of experience in Database, Data Management, or Engineering roles - 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies - 5+ years of experience managing NoSQL databases like Couchbase, MongoDB, and CosmosDB - 2+ years of experience with ElasticSearch - Proficiency in performance tuning and database monitoring - Experience working with large transactional databases - Ability to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend configuration changes for optimal NoSQL database performance - Strong expertise in relational databases and data modeling - Familiarity with Azure database technologies like Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance Additionally, certifications in Azure/SQL Server/NoSQL and experience with Postgres and MySQL are considered advantageous for this role. Knowledge of SQL monitoring tools and experience with ServiceNow and Azure DevOps will be beneficial in fulfilling your responsibilities effectively.,
