Fleet Maintenance & Workshop Management: Control and supervise Pan-India vehicle maintenance and repair operations through a strong workshop and field service network. Lead in-house maintenance teams for all types of repairs including accidental repairs , routine servicing , and container body manufacturing as per BOQ/BOM . Establish and operate a fully functional maintenance workshop equipped for comprehensive repairs. Manage diagnostics of BS6 & BS4 vehicles using tools to reduce external dependencies and save costs. Coordinate preventive and scheduled servicing , track vehicle service records, and manage workshop calendars accordingly. Oversee vehicle DEF (Urea) consumption reporting against TML benchmarks. Ensure compliance with corporate identity standards by upgrading infrastructure at workshops and branches. Operations & Communication: Handle breakdown reporting, tracking, and resolution , with round-the-clock communication with drivers and relevant officials . Draft and send breakdown and preventive maintenance emails and maintain a comprehensive breakdown log. Coordinate the preparation and submission of bills/invoices for repair-related payments. Maintain effective communication with OEMs and service vendors for AMCs, warranty claims, and technical escalations. Send regular technical feedback reports on product performance to respective OEM teams. Inventory, Procurement & Cost Control: Implement SKU-based spare parts inventory management , including bin system , for optimized stock levels. Conduct regular market surveys to compare and control spare part pricing. Handle procurement of plant & machinery, tools, spares , and consumables with a minimum inventory concept . Track and control vehicle repair and maintenance expenses across regions. Team Leadership & Performance: Manage and supervise workshop staff across all regions ensuring performance, discipline, and process adherence. Conduct periodical performance evaluations and gap analysis of service levels in different workshops. Identify training needs of the workshop teams and coordinate technical and process-based learning initiatives. Monitor system adherence at all workshops to ensure process compliance and operational consistency. Develop TMS (Tyre Management System) to reduce tire usage costs through tracking and analytics. Business Planning & Growth: Drive initiatives for revenue enhancement and explore new business opportunities for the workshop through innovative proposals. Oversee the modification and fabrication of trailers and vehicle bodies as per management directives. Lead AMC/warranty operations and maintain regular communication with AL, M&M , and other OEMs for ongoing support. Key Skills & Competencies: In-depth knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics . Strong experience in handling BS6/BS4 TATA vehicles and tools. Expertise in inventory control, cost management , and market rate analysis. Proficiency in breakdown handling, preventive servicing , and reporting systems. Hands-on experience in container and trailer manufacturing based on engineering drawings/BOQ. Strong leadership and team management abilities across multi-location workshops. Effective communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with insurance processes for accident repairs and vendor negotiation . Strong analytical mindset with the ability to manage operational data and technical reports. Preferred Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering. Certifications in vehicle diagnostics, workshop management, or fleet systems preferred. Proficiency in Excel, ERP/Fleet Management software, and communication platforms.
