Description
As an NMS Standards Specialist at Nokia, you will play a crucial role in leading and shaping industry standards efforts, particularly focusing on Optical NMS and solution manageability. Your primary responsibilities will involve contributing to the functional strategy by integrating standardization considerations and engaging with key customers and senior experts to keep abreast of evolving standards. Acting as a liaison between standards organizations and R&D, your role will include translating specifications into implementable requirements while ensuring alignment with Nokia's vision. Your expertise in network modeling (UML, YANG) and full FCAPS network management will be instrumental in driving innovation and influencing industry policies. Moreover, your strong communication and leadership skills will enable you to navigate cross-cultural collaborations and contribute to global standardization initiatives. In this role, you will shape and lead efforts related to standards and industry specifications, focusing on Optical NMS. You will have the opportunity to analyze, develop, and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert, increasing your awareness and involvement beyond your own subject area. While working mostly independently, you will carry out specialized activities and projects under general direction, influencing others to support decisions. Your ability to analyze situations and data that require a review of relevant factors will be key in contributing to the functional vision and strategy resulting from standardization consideration. You will interact consistently with key customers and senior experts on standardization-related topics, participating in alignment and clarifying membership issues within Nokia. Additionally, you will have the chance to influence standard/open-source policies regionally under guidance. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree with 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience in Optical NMS. Your ability to operate autonomously in your subject area and analyze, develop, and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert will be crucial. Expertise in FCAPS, UML, and YANG is essential, along with being an energetic, creative engineer skilled in standards and network modeling for manageability. It would also be beneficial if you have demonstrated success in multiple roles, adaptability to manage complex and changing business environments, and management experience with well-advanced skills in a specific professional discipline. Strong communication skills for engaging with executives and external parties, including negotiating on operational matters, will further enhance your capabilities.
