NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology

As an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at Hull York Medical School, based at the University of York, you will have the opportunity to excel in both your clinical and academic training, contributing to the next generation of leading clinical academics. Your role will involve continuing clinical training at a 50% whole time equivalent rate within NHS England North East and Yorkshire. You will collaborate with the Training Programme Director and Academic Lead to develop a research to clinical training configuration that supports progression and academic output. This fixed-term position is available for up to 4 years or until CCT/CCST is achieved, whichever comes first. Key Responsibilities: - Continue clinical training at 50% whole time equivalent rate within NHS England North East and Yorkshire - Collaborate with the Training Programme Director and Academic Lead to develop a research to clinical training configuration - Prepare for successful exit from the academic training programme to pursue competitive research fellowships, academic senior lectureships, and roles in the global health research community Qualifications Required: - Hold a current National Training Number (NTN) for the specialty, or clinically benchmark to be able to take up the post - Hold a higher research degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) and either hold MRCGP and have completed clinical training, or be a specialist/specialty registrar - Have already submitted a PhD or MD thesis at the time of application The Academic Clinical Lecturer position at Hull York Medical School offers the opportunity to further your career in both clinical and academic domains, preparing you for a successful future in clinical academia.
