Job Title: OT In-Charge (Nursing) Department: Operation Theatre (OT) Experience Required: 3 to 5 Years Location: D Y Patil Hospital and Research Centre, Nerul, Navi Mumbai Reporting To: Nursing Superintendent / OT Manager / Hospital Administration Job Summary: The OT In-Charge (Nursing) is responsible for supervising and managing all nursing activities in the Operation Theatre. The role ensures smooth OT functioning, proper sterilization protocols, staff coordination, and adherence to clinical safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities in all Operation Theatres. Maintain OT discipline and ensure adherence to infection control and aseptic techniques. Ensure availability and proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables. Allocate duties and prepare duty rosters for OT nursing staff. Oversee pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care. Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and other medical personnel for case scheduling and readiness. Monitor and ensure implementation of NABH/JCI or other clinical quality standards. Maintain proper documentation and OT records (pre-op checklists, sterilization logs, etc.). Train, guide, and evaluate performance of junior nurses and support staff in OT. Ensure emergency preparedness and stock management for emergency procedures. Qualifications & Skills: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution Registered Nurse with State Nursing Council 35 years of relevant OT nursing experience; at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred Good knowledge of surgical procedures, infection control, and sterilization protocols Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills Ability to handle emergencies and multitask in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with hospital documentation and quality protocols (e.g., NABH)
