Role Overview The GM – Sales will be responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue growth, market penetration, and strategic partnerships in both B2B (enterprise/industrial clients) and B2G (government projects, tenders, public sector) domains. This is a leadership role with high visibility, ownership, and opportunity for impact. Key Responsibilities · Develop and lead a high-performing sales team with clear KPIs, accountability, and performance-driven culture. · Design and implement a national sales strategy focusing on: o B2B: Large industries, utilities, EPC contractors, OEMs, private infrastructure firms. o B2G: Government tenders, municipal bodies, smart city projects, Jal Shakti Mission, AMRUT, and environmental agencies. · Identify and pursue new business opportunities across sectors by building strong relationships with: o Industrial clients and consultants (B2B) o Government agencies and public sector undertakings (B2G) · Lead complex sales negotiations, proposal development, and tender documentation for institutional and government buyers. · Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Technical teams to develop and deliver customized solutions. · Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform sales and pricing strategies. · Represent the company at trade shows, industry forums, and government meetings. Qualifications & Experience · Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental) or a related technical field; MBA preferred. · 15–20 years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a strong background in B2B and B2G sales. · Demonstrated success in: o Selling technical/engineering solutions to industrial clients. o Winning and managing government contracts and tenders. · Deep understanding of consultative selling, long sales cycles, and stakeholder alignment. · Strong negotiation, leadership, and communication skills. Preferred Attributes · Experience working with government procurement systems (GeM, CPPP, e-tendering portals). · Familiarity with national water/environmental programs (e.g., Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, Smart Cities). · Passion for sustainability, innovation, and environmental technologies. · Strong network in both private and public sector domains. · Willingness to travel for client and project engagements.
