Neurotechnologist

• A Neuro Technician, or Neurodiagnostic Technologist,
• performs diagnostic tests like EEGs and nerve conduction studies to monitor and record the electrical activity of the brain and nervous system, assisting neurologists in diagnosing conditions such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and neuropathy
• .
• Key responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, operating and maintaining specialized equipment, analyzing test data, generating preliminary reports, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during tests.
• Core Responsibilities
• Patient Care & Preparation:Explain tests to patients, ensure their comfort and safety, and prepare them for procedures by applying electrodes and sensors.
• Test Administration:Conduct various neurodiagnostic tests, including:
• Electroencephalograms (EEGs): Record brain's electrical activity.
• Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS): Assess nerve function.
• Electromyography (EMG): Evaluate muscle function.
• Polysomnography (PSG): Monitor sleep patterns.
• Evoked Potentials: Measure sensory responses to stimuli.
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance:Operate, calibrate, and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
