Job Description: System Architect (IoT & AI/ML Platforms) We are looking for a seasoned and technically strong System Architect to lead the design and development of ENERGY7s core industrial IoT platform for Remote Diagnostics and Predictive Maintenance (RDPMS) . You will architect, plan, and oversee the complete technology stack — from field data acquisition to cloud analytics, virtualization, and AI deployment. Responsibilities: System Architecture Design Architect scalable, fault-tolerant, and modular IoT-based systems integrating edge devices, field protocols, cloud infrastructure, virtualization environments, and analytics engines. IoT Platform Planning Design real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines using MQTT, Modbus TCP/RTU, REST APIs, and message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ. Server, Virtualization & Infrastructure Oversight Lead deployment and performance tuning of Linux-based servers. Plan and manage VMware-based virtualization environments , including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter. Configure and monitor web servers (Nginx/Apache), optimize resource allocation, and manage virtual networking and shared storage. Networking & Firewall Management Design and implement segmented network topologies with VLANs and routing policies. Configure firewalls (e.g., pfSense, Fortinet, iptables) and manage VPNs, NAT, port forwarding, and IDS/IPS. Maintain secure LAN/WAN connectivity between IoT field devices, servers, and cloud endpoints. Database & Storage Design Architect time-series and relational/NoSQL databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Ensure data integrity with backup, replication, sharding, and high availability strategies. API & Microservices Governance Define RESTful API standards, service-to-service contracts, and enforce microservices architecture best practices with security and observability baked in. Cloud Deployment & DevOps Oversee hybrid deployments across on-prem, Azure, and AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD). Automate infrastructure as code (Terraform/Ansible) and monitor deployments for scalability and resilience. Security, IAM & Compliance Implement system-wide encryption (TLS/SSL), RBAC, IAM policies, endpoint hardening, and firewall rules. Continuously monitor for vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Monitoring & Reliability Engineering Set up centralized logging, health dashboards, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, and ELK stack. Design disaster recovery, failover, and high-availability mechanisms across VMs, databases, and cloud systems. Collaboration & Leadership Lead cross-functional teams (backend, frontend, AI/ML, embedded) to ensure modular and maintainable system integration. Continuously review and refine architecture through stakeholder feedback and tech evaluations.
