Network Security Engineer II

As an Information Security Engineer at Rackspace, your role involves configuring, improving, modifying, and evaluating security tools and services in the hosting-based environment. You will specialize in conducting technology and system assessments, offering technical consultation to customers and providing world-class service. Staying updated with evolving technology and cybersecurity news is crucial, especially when supporting Rackspace Cloud products. Collaboration with additional teams and third-party vendors to address security vulnerabilities and weak points is a key aspect of your responsibilities. Leveraging various systems like Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, database encryption, Anti-Virus, and network authentication will enable you to deliver exceptional customer outcomes and maintain customer loyalty by exceeding expectations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Configure, investigate, and analyze Web Application Firewall (WAF) blocked events - Support Log Management tools such as Alert Logic - Manage Firewalls appliances (Cisco ASA/ASA-X/Firepower, Palo Alto) and Load Balancers appliances (F5 LTM, Citrix Netscaler) - Troubleshoot network connectivity using packet capture tools like Wireshark - Administer Windows and Linux operating systems - Understand public cloud security architectures, best practices, and services - Provide guidance on deployment strategies and maintain vendor-related roadmaps - Perform device firmware upgrades based on security requirements **Qualifications Required:** - Intermediate knowledge of security concepts, principals, and technologies - Familiarity with common web security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques - Hands-on experience with networking concepts, devices, and protocols - Proficiency in Cisco switch configuration and troubleshooting - Understanding of IPSEC and SSL VPN technologies - Ability to work with web servers, database servers, mail servers, and name servers - Knowledge of configuring Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems - Experience in maintaining up-to-date vendor-related roadmaps and executing device firmware upgrades In case you would like more information about how your data is processed during the hiring process using AI tools, please feel free to reach out to us.,
