Description
As a Network Engineer Operations Consultant with 9 to 10 years of experience, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing network infrastructure operations. Your role will involve working on incident management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, change implementation, and stakeholder communication. Additionally, you will contribute to automation, process improvements, and compliance initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include managing day-to-day network operations encompassing LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and Cloud Networks. You will monitor network performance to ensure high availability and reliability, perform root cause analysis of critical outages, and implement preventive measures. Handling network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto will also be part of your duties. You will manage escalated incidents and service requests related to network connectivity, routing, switching, and security. Implementing and supporting network changes in alignment with ITIL-based change management practices will be crucial. Creating and maintaining network documentation, collaborating with vendors and ISPs, and ensuring compliance with security standards will also fall under your purview. Driving network automation and scripting for routine tasks and monitoring will be an essential aspect of your role. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, HSRP, STP, VLAN, and QoS. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls and routers, as well as familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, and Wireshark, will be necessary. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure), along with familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow and network configuration management, will be advantageous. Strong scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or Ansible is a plus, along with an understanding of information security principles and standards. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent. Additional certifications such as CCIE, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS/Azure Networking certifications, and ITIL Foundation are desirable. Key attributes for success in this role include strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to work in a high-pressure, 24x7 operations environment.
