Network Engineer

Job Description

Hands On and troubleshooting knowledge of Switches: Cisco catalyst 2960X, Nexus 3000 Series (N3K), Nexus C3048tTP, Cisco Nexus 7000 L3 10g, brocade 10g Firewall: Cisco FTP firepower or Sonicwall NSA 4650 or Paloalto or CISCO ASA ,Process Change/Service Requests for MACD (Moves, Adds, Changes, Deletes), enabling/disabling LAN ports, and assigning Virtual LANs (VLANs). Manage virtual networks, subnets, Domain Name Systems (DNS), IP addresses, and network security groups in cloud environments. Manage DHCP, NTP, and DNS services, including record-keeping and related tasks. Ensure WAN links' availability and capacity utilization through proactive monitoring. Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents for all devices. Coordinate with third-party vendors for outages affecting corporate headquarters and field locations. Serve as an escalation point for OEMs, CUSTOMER teams, vendors, or third parties and coordinate with WAN and hardware providers. Ensure secure network connectivity by following best practices in network security. Security and Compliance: ** - Implement and enforce security measures to protect the network against potential threats. - Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies. - Proficiency in routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, etc. - Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and routing/switching technologies. - Proven experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds) and ticketing systems. - Expertise in backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability systems. - Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root cause analysis.
