Role Overview: As a Network Engineer - Level 2 (Firewall Support) at VIKING CLOUD, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting firewall solutions, managing network infrastructure, and ensuring customer satisfaction. With 3 to 5 years of experience in IT firewall, IP Networking, and VPN, you will play a crucial role in completing customer implementations and providing ongoing support. Key Responsibilities: - Firewall Implementation and Support: - Installing VIKING CLOUD Managed Network Solutions including Fortinet firewalls. - Making changes to VIKING CLOUD firewalls to meet customer needs. - Solving technical customer issues related to firewalls, filtering, IP Networking, Routing, VPNs, and application connectivity. - Responding to firewall/network issues on a rotating on-call basis, which may require work outside traditional hours. - Monitoring firewall performance, capacity, and availability to recommend improvements in technologies and practices. - Working with technical staff to develop firewall architectures, technologies, and quality assurance policies. - Firewall and VPN Management: - Performing incident, problem, and change management processes for firewalls according to ITIL standards. - Improving customer satisfaction through stable and transparent service. - Continuous Improvement: - Assisting in training and development of internal resources. - Creating relevant documentation for new issues. - Assisting in the development, approval, and maintenance of knowledge base articles. Qualifications: - 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology with expertise in IT firewall, IP Networking, and VPN. - Hands-on experience with Meraki and Fortinet firewalls. - Knowledge of network protocols and concepts including SSH, FTP, ICMP, TCPIP (IPv4 & IPv6), Network Address Translation (NAT), SNMP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, and VLANs. - Ability to interpret output from network traffic analysis tools such as Ethereal (Wireshark). - Effective interpersonal and consulting skills to align customer needs with solutions. - Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear client communication and documentation. - Proficiency in Excel & Visio for documentation. - Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
