Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive L3 Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role requires deep technical knowledge in managing multi-vendor networks, advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution (P1/P2), and day-to-day operations. The candidate will be responsible for supporting switches (Dell, Cisco, Aruba), wireless (Meraki APs), and firewalls (Checkpoint, FortiGate, Palo Alto), along with documentation, diagramming, and working in a rotational shift model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Level 3 escalation for complex network incidents (P1/P2), ensuring timely resolution and RCA.
- Troubleshoot and manage enterprise switches (Dell, Cisco, Aruba) and wireless infrastructure (Meraki).
- Administer and support firewall platforms (Checkpoint, FortiGate, Palo Alto), including VPNs, NAT, threat policies, and HA.
- Create and update network diagrams and topologies using tools like Visio or draw.io.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
- Work on day-to-day operational tickets, including service requests, incident resolutions, and user/network issues.
- Participate in rotational shifts, covering weekdays and weekends (on-call or scheduled).
- Support routing, switching, and segmentation protocols (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP).
- Monitor network health, performance, and security using SNMP, syslog, NetFlow, and dashboards.
- Implement network changes and upgrades, ensuring minimal impact and compliance with change management.
- Collaborate with security and systems teams on deployments, audits, and vulnerability remediation.
- Provide mentoring to junior network staff when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7-12 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a multi-vendor enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Dell (N/S series), Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, and Aruba switches.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki wireless networks and cloud dashboard management.
- Deep knowledge of Checkpoint, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Proficient in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), STP, VLANs, trunking, HA, and network security controls.
- Ability to analyze packet captures and logs for deep troubleshooting.
- Familiar with change, incident, and problem management frameworks (ITIL preferred).
- Experience in maintaining accurate documentation and logical/physical network diagrams.
Certifications (Preferred):
- CCNP / CCIE (Cisco)
- PCNSE (Palo Alto)
- NSE 4 or above (Fortinet)
- Check Point CCSE
- Aruba Certified Professional
- ITIL Foundation (preferred)
