As a Network Engineer at Flex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of our LAN and WAN environments. Your expertise in routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP will be vital in maintaining network connectivity and resolving any day-to-day issues that may arise. Your responsibilities will include attending to corporate LAN switching, implementing switching technologies like VLAN, VTP, and trunking for enhanced security, and troubleshooting connectivity issues at both Layer-2 and Layer-3 levels. Your proficiency in scripting tools like Python will be beneficial for automation tasks. Monitoring and managing the network to maximize uptime will be a key focus area, along with assisting in creating and implementing documentation and procedures to support service operations. You will be required to keep track of network and telecom infrastructure, provide suggestions for improvements, and collaborate with service providers/vendors to resolve escalated issues. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining key monitoring systems like NMIS and SolarWinds, contributing to data analytics and report creation, performing daily health checks, and ensuring timely closure of support issues within defined SLAs. Collaboration with global peers to leverage knowledge and expertise will also be a part of your role. To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of 4 years of networking experience, strong communication skills, and analytical abilities. Your flexibility to work in 24/7 rotational shifts, technical expertise in routing, switching, security, and traffic optimization, as well as operational knowledge of SNMP, NetFlow protocols, and network monitoring tools will be essential. Your commitment to effective communication, escalation management, alert monitoring, troubleshooting, and ticket handling will be highly valued.
