DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee). The Impact you will have in this role: Platform Engineer (Network Observability Engineer) in Network Observability will be responsible for Administering and Leading the DTCC Network Infrastructure Monitoring tools. This role will partner with the Network Observability Engineering team to ensure that ensure monitoring and instrumentation are properly configured in all critical locations of the Network. The role will work closely with DTCC Network Operations and Network Engineering teams to understand troubleshooting challenges and translate the challenges into action plans using Topology analysis and visualization using a suite of tools at DTCC. Your Primary Responsibilities: Data collection: Gather information from network devices like routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and endpoints. This data includes network traffic, log files, SNMP MIB file maintenance and device statistics. Data analysis: Use advanced analytics to process and analyze the data to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends. Documentation: Create documentation, schematics, templates and presentations for operational use, management and collaborators.Ensure Disaster Recover Steps and High Availability principles are maintained at all times. Troubleshooting: Use the data to identify root causes of issues and fix complex connectivity issues. Visualization: Create custom dashboards and visual representations to gain insights from the data. Collaboration: with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure end to end support for design, implementation, and operations. Solutions should support end to end success. Improving User Experiences: Observability engineers identify areas for improvement in user experiences by analyzing telemetry data, optimizing performance, and reducing bottlenecks Qualifications: Minimum of 4 years of related experience Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience Talents Needed for Success: Fosters a culture where integrity and transparency are encouraged. Stays ahead of on changes in their own specialist area and seeks out learning opportunities to ensure knowledge is up-to-date. Invests effort to individually coach others. Specific Skills & Technologies Participate in Network Engineering System Design and Implementation Projects to ensure observability principles are applied to every project. Provide insights and guidance on telemetry requirements, instrumentation strategies, and best practices to ensure observability is built into the system from the ground up. Partner with Observability Engineers to develop dashboards and routines to constantly provide an overview of the health of the DTCC network ensuring business readiness at all times. Solid understanding in technologies like: Splunk, NetBrain, OpenText tools suite, SolarWinds, Event Management Tools, syslog, Network Analysis Tools, Gigamon Packet Directors, SNMP, and Packet Capture tools. Advance knowledge of networking monitoring protocols, such as: SNMP v3, netflow, etc. Extensive experience managing an NPM/APM tool like NNMi, SolarWinds, etc is required. Ability to supervise and analyze performance of Network systems using a diverse set of Network Capabilities and a variety of tools. Strong Network Troubleshooting skills in a Network Campus & Data Center environment. Ability to help solve sophisticated challenges using modern Network Monitoring, Observability, alerting, reporting, dashboarding technologies.

Experience with network automation using NetBrain Hand on experience with mongoDB Working knowledge on Cisco Prime perform configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting SolarWinds and related network management system tools. Experience with SQL and understanding of Database for running queries. ServiceNow experience in integration with SolarWinds, configuration or maintenance Technical understanding of the ServiceNow platform in general and Integration tools Experience with enterprise scripting languages such as Python, Linux command line basics and Bash scripting Experience with common network management tools including Network Monitoring, Incident Management, Log Analysis etc. Good understanding of windows operating system Strong technical leadership experience (preferably in provisioning and DevOps at scale) Deep understanding of Linux and provisioning automation Experience in various hybrid and virtualized networks: ACI, NSX, AWS/Azure/GCP etc. Experienced in Multi-Vendor network environment with various legacy routers/switches, firewalls, load balancers, and virtualization controllers in virtualized networks Experience proactively addressing reliability issues across all layers of the stack Excellent written and verbal communication skills
