Job Description To assist Engineering Manager to ensure the smooth running of daily Engineering Operations. To be competent to set up, configure, operate, and maintain a wide variety of electronic equipment involved in outside broadcasting production, including, but not limited to HD Video, UHD Video, Audio and Communication Equipment. To be competent in the use of RF Equipment’s and antenna systems. To be able to troubleshoot broadcasting equipment’s to a system-level and able to communicate and report to the office and manufacturer for problem-solving. Participate in technical and production meetings to plan, organize, and schedule work assignments in coordination with inter-disciplinary teams in office and at event locations. Conduct training for Assistant Broadcast Engineers and share knowledge with team members on broadcast equipment and technologies. To undertake project work from site surveys to delivering in a professional and timely manner. To assist in keeping equipment updated with the manufacturer’s latest software releases. To be responsible for maintaining technical equipment and systems to the required safety and technical standards with minimum disruption to operational activities To be willing to learn and practice the new technologies used by NEP INDIA that have not been experienced or worked with before. To be able to direct, instruct and manage assistant engineers and possible system integrators on projects. To be able to draft technical reports of field work. To be competent in reading and designing of the engineering workflow. Prepare technical documents for the preparation of projects and amend as necessary throughout the life of the project. Take responsibility on all work health and safety matters and comply with the statutory safety requirements as per NEP India Health and Safety Policies. To be flexible in work hours and outstation travel frequently for local and overseas projects & for any role/ work assigned in the Engineering Department or within the NEP Group. Requirements Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in Live sports Broadcasting and related areas . Expert Knowledge in Baseband Routing & Switching especially Grass Valley & Sony equipment. Vast Knowledge of Broadcast IP Environment including IP Video (SMPTE ST 2110) & & Audio Routing (ST-2110-31) & Programming of Cisco & Arista Switches. CCNA in Routing & Switching is preferred. Familiar with the operation and programming of Routers, Switchers, Tally Systems, Multiviewers, Comms etc. Familiar with the setup and integration of cameras, lenses, CCU’s etc. Experience with EVS equipment & EVS Networking including EVS, X-File, X-Hub, IP Director etc. Experience with Audio Mixers, & other Audio related Equipment’s used in Broadcast. An understanding of radio, television, and the associated transmission and carrier systems. Understanding of computers, servers, IT systems and networks. A keen interest in broadcast technology, its development and application in the region. Knowledge of Cisco Switches and IP technology an advantage. This is a field engineering position and requires the candidates to be hands-on, willing, and able to travel on projects for extended periods

Responsibilities Assist and report to the Engineering Manager to ensure smooth running of daily engineering operations. To assist in setting up, configuring, operating and maintaining equipment used in the field of Television Broadcast. To assist in troubleshooting equipment and report to the Engineers if there are problems with the equipment and if necessary as advised, inform the manufacturer. To assist in checking equipment from return shipment on a technical level, with the help of the storekeeping team to ensure that equipment return matches the packing list. After checking, identify missing items and prepare a discrepancy report. To identify faulty equipment(s) from returned shipments, and with engineers’ guidance, prepare a fault report and communicate with the Engineering Manager and Head office for further action. To perform each work task with professional skill, due care and diligence to the best of its ability, and under the highest industry standards and practices for works. To assist Engineers in keeping the equipment updated with the new manufacturers’ software. Take initiative and be willing to learn at all times and with the guidance of Broadcast Engineers, new technologies that have not been experienced or worked with before. Take responsibility for all work health and safety matters and comply with the statutory safety requirements and NEP India Health and Safety Policies. To be flexible in work travel plans includes taking on any role/ work assigned to you in the Engineering Department or within the NEP Group. What You Can Expect From The Job This is a field engineering position and requires the candidates to be hands-on, willing, and able to travel on projects for extended periods of time. You will be trained on broadcast equipment and are required to achieve a certain level of expertise. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, operation, packing, unpacking, installation, and dismantling of the equipment regularly. Your work location could vary across projects, i.e., you will be required to work outdoors in diverse locations which could include sporting venues, stadiums, conference locations, auditoriums, or studios located anywhere in the world. You will be required to travel to various international locations where projects will be conducted. Some of our project locations include Australia, England, Japan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UAE, UK, and USA. Experience A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the Broadcast industry is essential.

Collaborate with various departments to understand existing training material/workflow processes, revising or updating content to incorporate the changes, feedback and close any gaps. Ensure technical accuracy and possess the knowledge to write comprehensive documentation. Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation. Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit content, and determine the best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage. Develop content and convert manufacturer technical manuals into alternative media formats for maximum usability, maintaining a consistent voice across all documentation for easy to understandable courses. Meet with stakeholders and participate in requirements discussion. Ability to handle independent tasks and contribute as an individual contributor. Job Qualifications And Skills Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related disciplines. Seven or more years of experience as an effective technical writer. Ability to understand and prepare technical drawings and process flow charts. Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter. Experience in writing technical documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences. Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content Good knowledge of MS Office or Google Docs. Ability to edit videos and images Strong research and analytical skills Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines Should have granular analysis skills.
