Intern – Cricket Data Analytics & Team Modeling Nearverse Labs is building a mobile-first digital collectible-powered PvP blockchain gaming platform designed for a billion cricket fans. The platform aims to fill the gap in accessible, fan-first digital experiences for cricket enthusiasts. We are looking for a data-savvy cricket enthusiast to help us design the backbone of Play11s’ team and player modeling system. This is a short-term internship with high impact: you’ll create the methodology that powers rarity scores, team generation, and future player stat updates. What you’ll do Collect, clean, and preprocess historic cricket performance data Design performance metrics (e.g., batting power, bowling efficiency, fielding impact, experience score) Build a Python script (or equivalent) to simulate random team generation and scoring Develop a repeatable, transparent rarity & scoring framework that adapts as player stats evolve Work closely with our dev team to integrate the model into the app Draft clear documentation of your methodology Suggest creative ideas to make the process more robust and engaging What we’re looking for Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, web scraping basics) Knowledge of statistical modeling or sports analytics A genuine passion for cricket and understanding of player roles & stats Problem-solving mindset with ability to explain insights clearly Bonus: Experience with fantasy sports scoring models or building sports dashboards Details Duration: 8–12 weeks Location: Remote Stipend: Competitive for internship level (with potential for extension/part-time role)
